This fundraiser benefits those impacted by the fire on December 20th 2023. \nTickets: Adults $50 Children $25 \nOn December 20th\, 2023 a fire broke out at a residential building with more than 100 apartments. Sadly\, hundreds of our neighbors in Sunnyside were displaced just before the holidays and are now figuring out how to rebuild. \nJoin us for a night of music\, food\, drinks\, raffles\, and fun to benefit families impacted by the fire. Thanks to the generosity of the multiple restaurants\, vendors and musicians\, all money raised (minus the Eventbrite processing fee) will go to the Sunnyside Fire Relief Fund for those impacted by the fire. \nEvery ticket purchase comes with dinner\, and for those 21+\, a set number of drink tickets are provided while additional drinks are available for an additional donation. \nJoin the community as we eat\, drink\, and enjoy great music for a great cause. DESCRIPTION:Join me and approximately 1 million people at 150 inspirational evening walks across the US and Canada\, walking to end cancer.\nThis is an annual event that really helps bring awareness and raises funds to help find a cure for this form of cancer. Leukemia has affected my family personally and I know it has many of you reading this now. New York City has three sites and dates for the walk. I’ve done it a few times\, it’s amazing. I took my daughter\, we met friends and felt good about participating. Check out the dates and locations. This one is for a walk in Flushing Meadow Park. – R. Trionfo \nFamily\, friends\, and co-workers gather together to celebrate\, honor or remember those touched by Leukemia or cancer. Registration is free\, but walkers are encouraged to raise funds to support the mission. \nAt Light The Night\, it is our aim to bring light to the darkness of cancer through research and cures. Light The Night is a series of fundraising campaigns benefiting The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) funding of research to find blood cancer cures. We bring hope instead of despair by working to ensure access to treatments for all blood cancer patients. We bring communities together to celebrate those who are fighting the disease and to honor those we have lost. \nWe are taking steps to end Leukemia and cancer. DESCRIPTION:The 27th of February 1844 is the date when Dominican’s obtained their Independence and was finally called the Dominican Republic. \nAfter many years of being a Spanish colony and then being occupied by our fellow Haitians\, it was in 1844 when our Founding Father\, Juan Pablo Duarte\, created a secret society named “La Trinitaria” in which\, along with other leaders Francisco Del Rosario Sánchez and Matías Ramón Mella he fought against the Haitian repression to gain Independence. \nThis year Dominican Heritage Month Celebration is dedicated to Dominican Americans who have made positive contributions within the community. The event will be held on Wednesday\, February 28th\, 2018 at La Boom\, located at 56-15 Northern Blvd\, Woodside\, NY 11377. \nThere will be traditional Dominican food buffet-style serving and Artwork display from Dominican artist starting at 6:00pm and ending at 7:00pm. DESCRIPTION:We invite you to learn more about the success stories of our participants in the Wake up! Breakfast this December 7th at 7:30am. \nSome demographics of BGCPR impact: \n89% of the 15\,000 youth served are under the poverty level13 Centers across the island serving youth 6-18 years of age\, 6 are within public community housing developments working with the most at-risk youth on the island \n  \nKey results\n99% of participants graduate from high school 86% will continue to college \n \n\nOn Wednesday\, September 20th\, hurricane María hit Puerto Rico\, destroying properties and leaving our communities severely damaged\, without water\, electricity or communication\, as well as thousands of people searching for places to find food\, water and shelter. \nBoys & Girls Clubs of Puerto Rico runs 13 Club Houses across the island\, which are the second home for 15\,000 children and youth and 4\,000 families per year. Our Club Houses are located in economically challenged communities and 89% of the children and youth we serve live on households with income under the federal poverty level. In 2017\, that means $12\,060 for an individual or $24\,600 for a family of four. Many of our 13 Club Houses suffered substantial damage during the storm. With schools damaged or being used as shelters\, children in these communities are left without a safe place to receive much needed educational and support services\, adding stress to an already stressful young life. \nWe need your help to restore hope and return to delivering much needed support services to our youth and families. Join us by partnering in the Boys & Girls Clubs of Puerto Rico IMPACT FUND\, through which we commit to re-open one by one each of our Centers to service communities. We will be prepared\, when called upon\, to expand our hours as it is not known when Public Schools will re-open. We have identified Las Margaritas Club in Metro San Juan as our first Club to bring to full operations and have secured funds to buy a power generator to be able to run this club as a community service center. DESCRIPTION:Tuesday October 10th\, eight of the world’s most celebrated house music DJs will perform at Output Club for the Helping Hands to raise funds for Puerto Rico. This event is curated by Grammy award-winning DJ and producer Louie Vega. Louie is one of a select group of talented artists of Puerto Rican heritage who have made vital contributions to New York City’s nightlife\, music and culture. He felt it was crucial that he do something to help his friends and family in Puerto Rico in the wake of the tragedy following Hurricane Maria. \n \n\n\n\nEach DJ will play for an hour in this 8-hour show with a vocal performance by Josh Milan. The relief is coming but who knows how long it will take\, some people have lost everything. Here’s what we’re doing to help and make an impact right now. \n\nAmerican Airlines has a wonderful program called OPERATION PUERTO RICO STRONG which allows employees to ship 2 boxes up to 150lbs each FREE to San Juan. Between now and Friday 9/29/17 at 3pm (must have the boxes at JFK AA cargo by 6PM Friday). We are collecting items to ship and hand deliver it. Our friend Luis Daniel Lugardo is close to the Airport in San Juan and has committed to receiving and overseeing the distribution of the boxes to either pre-determined people\, families or organizations. He has gathered others who will assist in the distribution as well. We are prioritizing these efforts to those in remote areas\, children’s hospitals\, churches and nursing homes. You will see where your donations are going\, we will film the recipients and share it. \nWe setup a very convenient drop-off point in a shopping center in Queens\, NY close to highways with easy parking. The Keller Williams Real Estate office in Jackson Heights will receive any donations you can drop off. There’s a Rite Aid and Supermarket right there next door. I will oversee packing and getting the boxes to JFK Friday. If you drop off a full box sealed and designated for recipient\, you must itemize the contents and provide complete delivery contact details. \nThere are many wonderful online websites to send money and help\, however the local people in PR cant get anywhere\, there’s no gas and and the stores are empty. So this will get directly into their hands. \nIf you cant get to us in time and want to help. Contact me and we will find a way! DESCRIPTION:This event will be amazing – we are expecting a full house. \nThey also both have heavyweight collaborators for their Collins Avenue projects. Schrager’s The Residences at the Miami Beach Edition (2901 Collins Ave.\, Miami Beach\, 305-571-3101) comprises 26 condos designed by John Pawson located atop the hotel brand that Schrager has created with Marriott—a resort that will feature a Jean-Georges Vongerichten restaurant. A stone’s throw away sits Faena House (3201 Collins Ave.\, Miami Beach\, 305-534-8800) 47 residences designed by Foster + Partners that are part of the three-block-by-two-block Faena District. The developer’s eponymous district includes a hotel\, marina\, and three Rem Koolhaas-designed spaces: an arts center\, shopping area\, and hightech parking garage. Both men are armed with their respective Douglas Elliman sales teams of high-profile brokers who know New York as well as Miami. \nAs the neighborhood’s reputation changes from a modest condominium stretch to high-end luxury living\, Schrager and Faena are shattering the ceiling for condo prices in town. Both properties have been selling preconstruction units for more than $3\,000 per square foot since hitting the market earlier this year. The $34 million sale of two penthouses to one buyer at Edition clocked in at a record $3\,800 per square foot. \n“I wasn’t surprised\,” Schrager says. “There were a number of shifts that Miami was undergoing. A lot of sophisticated people were here\, caused in part by Art Basel. When you get a sophisticated international buyer\, they’re used to spending that money to live in a sophisticated place. And Miami has become that.” \nAnd Schrager\, who’s opened everything from New York’s Studio 54 to Miami Beach’s Delano\, points out that the residential feel of the surrounding blocks protects buyers from the tourist throngs they would find in South Beach’s hotel district\, practically forming a barrier.
